TVAR - TVÁŘ: High-Contrast Board Book for Babies
This high-contrast board book is designed specifically for newborns to aid visual development during their first months. Utilizing a bold black, red, and white palette, the book encourages infants to focus and promotes motor skills, such as lifting the head during tummy time.
The project originated from a personal commission for the author’s son. The creative process involved hand-cut compositions that were tested in a home environment to observe infant visual responses. These curated patterns were then transformed into a final publication, bridging early developmental needs with minimalist design.
The title Tvar - Tvář (Shape - Face) is a Czech wordplay reflecting the book's dual focus: it features both abstract geometric shapes (tvary) and stylized human faces (tváře).
